Crashed On The Rocks!

The Good:
Almost any Bahamian beach is a good thing.  (Enlarge for details.)

This is Radio Beach in Alice Town in Bimini, the closest Bahamian Island to the USA--only 50 miles as the crow flies.  This is a little drinking island with a big fishing problem.  Guys wake up to drink beer for breakfast and they don't stop drinking until they fall down drunk at night.

The Bad:
Looks like a recycling initiative has been put in place since our last visit.  There are over 5000 empty beer bottles packed up on the side of the road here at Radio Beach.

The Ugly:

Looks to me like these two stories have some common denominator.  What do you think?

Someone or some crew did a good work to pick up beer bottles. How can people be so disrespectful of our environment that provides us our sustenance. Beats me.

Now that is what you call a "dry dock". Empty bottles and a boat on the rocks.

I agree with Manzanita- it must have taken someone a long time to collect all those bottles. Incredible to think of that happening in such a beautiful spot.

Drunk driving has taken on a new meaning. :) Maybe if you are rich and spoiled it doesn't matter if you crash your boat (as long as no one gets hurt). I think you guys have a different relationship with yours. I still have a set of German wax crayons that I owned as a child in Grade 1 in Germany. I tell my 4-year-old to please look after them when she uses them. My 14-year-old daughter is opposite to me when it comes to her things or mine.

Thanks for following 1camera1mom! Oh, and it's bougainvillea, but I had to look it up. :)

Yep, don't you hate it when some people just have no respect for our environment?

People are just determined to screw up every good thing we have! Nice photo reporting on it...
