Friday Follow

Greetings Fellow Bloggers!

It's Good Friday.  Why is it Good?

Because of Jesus.

He became a man, lived among us, showed us Who the Father is, then on this day, He willingly submitted to death by crucifixion to atone/pay for the sins of the whole world.  This one act became the benchmark for what is "good".

In just three more days, we get the rest of the story.  Stay tuned for Resurrection Sunday.

EASTER.

Due to travelling for the past two weeks, I have missed the fun of Friday Follow.  It's been fun where I've been too, but I missed you guys.  I love meeting new blogger friends.  Now I get to chat with guys and gals from Malaysia, Israel, all over North America and Britain.  It's better than a Ham Radio set.  Why can't we be friends too?  Join the fun and sign up.

You actually had a great question. First not all flea and tick formula's are created equal and there is one brand in particular that I would recommend just throwing out in the garbage and starting from scratch (Hartz). Even the best out there (Frontline & Revolution) in terms of toxicity can cause skin irritation especially in a dog with Pink skin like the one in your avatar might have. After all the least toxic flea and tick medication is the same pesticide they use on our fruits and vegetables.

I would check the area that you put the medication and see if it is red and inflamed. If not then I wouldn't worry about it. If it is then you should call your vet and see what the proper dosage of (human) benadryl would be for your dog. If your dog really is having a reaction you can go with a natural flea and tick repellent like Shampoochie (all natural bar soap)from Greenstone Soap or I am actually going to be writing up a review in the coming weeks for another brand of dog shampoo that is a flea and tick repellent.

Your dog could just be reacting to the feeling of having something on its back that doesn't feel like it is drying this medication is supposed to spread over the entire body of the dog so rolling around is a normal thing. When I apply flea and tick medication I split the vial between the nape of the neck and right by their tail and then I take a dog comb and just comb it through to try and help distribute the formula.
